We are not alone--lone vet report
January 28, 2008, 9:09 AM “WE ARE NOT ALONE”
I wondered how many people are being arrested for standing up to the Cheney/bush Administration. We have lots of company, made me smile that we are not alone: From David Swanson

National Campaign for Nonviolent Resistance, Year 2007 Resistance Against the War Update
By Max Obuszewski
“I am of the opinion that there has never been a movement in U.S. history with the number of arrests which have taken place in opposition to the Iraq War. This list of appeals, arrests and legal cases is not all-inclusive. Please send additions, corrections and updates to mobuszewski at verizon.net.”
Look at the number of people who are saying NO.
BETRAYAL
During a speech in 1967, Rev. Martin Luther King used these words,
“A time comes when silence is betrayal.”
We have been betrayed not just by Rep. Blumenauer, (3rd) but by the entire Oregon Delegation. My voice in the House of Representatives is Rep. Blumenauer and I protest against his position on accountability/impeachment but it does include all the others.
Rep. Darlene Hooley, (5th) says it is up to the leadership to bring about impeachment. Wrong!
Rep. Peter DeFazio, (4th) says no crimes have been committed, Wrong!
Sen. Wyden, says it is up to the House to speak about impeachment, Wrong!
Rep. Brian Baird says we are winning the war in Iraq, Wrong!
Sen. Smith says we must end this madness but keeps supporting the President and just lies.
Rep. David Wu (1st) called for impeachment before he voted against it.
Rep. Greg Walden (2nd), just loves Cheney and bush.
CAN YOU HEAR US YET BLUMENAUER
Submitted by lonevet2008 on Sun, 01/20/2008 - 20:23.This was our handout for our 25th Thursday of demanding Rep. Blumenauer honor his oath of office:
A special thanks to Jack and Malcolm for getting this out!
Can you connect these dots?
SOLE OATH OF OFFICE, required by the sixth article of the United States Constitution, administered to all Members of the House of Representatives: “I, Loyal Citizen of the Republic, do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.
We continue our fight with the Congress in Portland, Or.
Today Sara appeared before community court and asked for a two-week continuance due to the need to consult with her lawyer. I will appear next week and will request the same delay pending a decision of how to plea. We hope to have all three of us sit down with the Lawyers Guild and come up with a plan. We were in court, Sara had her red impeachment shirt on and I had the Constitution on a chain hanging from my neck. This caused many looks and some inquiries of why we were there this day. This is just the beginning of the process that may go for some time. I will keep you all informed of what and how we are doing.
We will be back at the Earlman’s office tomorrow at high noon to see if he has changed his mind on living up to his oath of office. We are going to have a rain free day, so come one come all to walk the walk and lots of laughing about the man who calls himself a progressive--Ha!
Rebooting What? lone vet report
Our Adventure Into Never-Never Land!
We arrived at our destination in front of the building, which was going to host Rebooting Democracy08 at 1:45 PM. We had been in contact with Ms. Caitlin Baggott, one of the members of the Bus Project and were given permission to hand out our leaflets outside the doors. When we made the turn into the parking lot there were about a dozen or so protesters along the street to greet the Peace Bus. Yes, we arrived with members of Chapter 72, to the cheers of our friends in a 30-foot bus with peace messages and impeachment signs all over the bus.
